Abuja, February 24, 2024.- The Cuban ambassador Miriam Morales Palmero together with workers from the diplomatic mission paid a courtesy visit to the Yoruba Oba of the Kuhigoro neighborhood in the Federal Capital Abuja, Abdulrazaq Oyewole.
During the meeting, Oba Abdulrazaq highlighted the strong ties that the Embassy has maintained with its community for more than 20 years, and recalled the ceremony carried out by all Oba of the region on the occasion of the death of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Ambassador of Cuba, for her part, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the reception and reiterated the support of the Embassy and the Cuban people in pursuit of the preservation of the Yoruba culture in Cuba and the ties with their Nigerian ancestors.
Also present on the Nigerian side were Princess Obunolowa Abosede Oladunni; Hon. Akinseyi Oyeyiola, Chairman of the Yoruba Community AMAC; Kabiyesi Oba Irekeola, Oba of Bassa; Kabiyesi Oba Babatunde, Oba of Waru; Kabeyesi Oba Oyewole, Oba of Jidu and members of Yoruba community of Kuchigoro.
