Visit young members of "Ográ Sinn Féin" to embassy of Cuba in Ireland.

Dublin, 4 of April 2023. On April 4, the anniversary of the creation of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, a group made up of around a dozen young people from the Irish youth organization "Ográ Sinn Féin" from the "Trinity College" University, visited the Cuban embassy where I exchange with the group of colleagues who work in it. During the meeting, the Cuban ambassador, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, gave them a cordial welcome, explaining to the young people how the Cuban Revolution, led by Fidel, triumphed in 1959 to turn his country into a beacon of freedom and independence in the face of North American claims to keep the Island subjugated, which they demonstrated with their interventions or threats.

He also referred to the US blockade that has lasted for more than 60 years, the support that Ireland has given to the resolution against it and the solidarity that the Irish people have maintained in these difficult circumstances, examples of which are shipments of health supplies to Cuban hospitals. He addressed the consequences for Cuba of its inclusion in the North American List of countries that sponsor terrorism. Likewise, he highlighted the positive results of the last elections on March 26 and how the Cuban people demonstrated with them their willingness to defend the Revolution, even in the midst of difficulties.

During the exchange, the young people were interested in Cuba, its youth, the possibilities of cooperation in health and other issues of common interest.

The organization is the youth wing of the "Sinn Féin" Party, one of the most prominent on the political spectrum in Ireland. The meeting took place in a fraternal and jovial atmosphere.
