Several members of the accredited Diplomatic Corps and Iranian friends from solidarity organizations gathered at the Residence of Cuba to offer a warm and well-deserved farewell to the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Norberto Escalona Carrillo, and his wife Anidelys Rojas Perera, after successfully completing four years of mission in Tehran.
The occasion was appropriated for the President of the Iran-Cuba Friendship Association, Hadi Khansari, to hand over to Norberto a diploma of recognition for his outstanding work in favor of strengthening solidarity and friendship between the Persian nation and the Island.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada stressed that all of the participants in the activity had had the opportunity to get to know the professionalism, dedication, friendship and enthusiasm of Norberto and Anidelys at different times during four years of intense and fruitful work in Tehran, which has been subject of collective recognition by the board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX).
The Ambassador said he was sure that with the same seriousness, dedication and joviality, Norberto and Anidelys will assume the new responsibilities and tasks that will be assigned to them at the Ministry, as they are part of the new group of Cuban diplomats with a promising future.
At the end of his speech, the Ambassador presented the substitutes of the outgoing diplomats: Junior Peñalver Quevedo and Aida Díaz Coto, in whose effort and dedication he trusts to continue the meritorious work carried out by the Embassy in recent years.
