We will always be where we most honor the country

Yesterday, July 13, the International Health Center La Pradera once again became the epicenter of love, gratitude and respect, when President Díaz-Canel met with a new group of collaborators who joined the COVID-19 battle in the Principality of Andorra, Nicaragua, and Antigua and Barbuda.

He arrived at the famous institution to begin a week of intense work with them, to listen and welcome them home again, this time without television screens.

On behalf of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, of our Party, of the government and of the Cuban people, Díaz-Canel said, conveying the recognition, admiration, respect and affection we have for the magnificent work you have done. He noted that these missions effort would have been impossible without a rearguard at home, and extended the gratitude of an entire country to the families of our health care professionals, who supported each and every doctor, nurse, and technician on the front lines.

With the presence of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz; Deputy Prime Minister Roberto Morales Ojeda; Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Minister of Public Health José Angel Portal Miranda, and other Party and government representatives, the stories began to flow.

Dr. Edelsy Delgado Díaz, specialist in General Comprehensive Medicine and Intensive Care, a member of the brigade serving in Andorra, reported that he made a point of writing down all his experiences, because "In the future, they could be useful in perfecting the protocols followed in our intensive care units.”

From warm Antigua and Barbuda, nurse Aldo Moreira López, specialist in Intensive Care and Master in Medical Emergencies, reported that he always knew, "I was not in the wrong place: I was where I had to be... We will always be where we most honor the country."
