Welcome to three Ghanaian doctors recently graduated in Cuba

The staff of the Cuban Embassy in Ghana welcomed three new Ghanaian doctors (Josephine Oboshie Laryea, Yusiff Abass and Richardson Kofi Gordor), who completed their medical studies on the Caribbean island.

The Ambassador Pedro L. Despaigne González in his welcoming words congratulated them for the excellent academic results obtained during their student life, encouraging them to continue to excel in their work sphere.

The new physicians, who completed seven years of studies, individually and collectively expressed their gratitude to the government of Cuba for having allowed them to graduate as doctors, and to the Cuban people, for having welcomed them as their own children. The dialogue was fully developed in Spanish, which they learned in Cuba, in a short time, and before starting their medical studies.

The young people, who carried out most of their studies in the province of Villa Clara, made reference to the symbolic meaning of the farewell ceremony that was paid to them in the Mausoleum that perpetuates the memory of Commander Ernesto "Ché" Guevara.

In the pleasant dialogue, the new health professionals commented on their experiences in the Cuban territory, and pointed out that they returned to Ghana inspired by the example of Cuba and willing to provide their knowledge in terms of national development. They also recognized the impact of the work of their teachers, who in addition to transmitting knowledge, helped them to train as better human beings. They all said that Cuba had changed them in a positive way.

The three young doctors, for their excellent academic results were selected directly to carry out in Cuba the specialty of Family Medicine.
