Wellington, April 20, 2017. – In a meeting held at the Cuban Embassy in New Zealand, Mayor Justin Lester, confirmed the support of the Wellington City Council to the 16th edition of the Latin America and Spain Film Festival (LASFF).
During the exchange, Latin American diplomats informed the local leader on the organization details of the event, which this year is coordinated by the Cuban Embassy. Details on the opening ceremony of the Festival, which will take place at the Te Papa Museum on October 20th, coinciding with Cuba Culture Day, were given by the Ambassador of the Caribbean country. On that occasion the film "Cuba Libre" will be screened, followed by a reception with a distinctive Hispanic flare.
Mayor Justin Lester expressed his satisfaction for having in the capital an event showcasing Spanish and Latin American culture, bringing their values to a city that is committed to diversity.
This year LASFF will include films from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. The exhibition could be enjoyed throughout the country, with successive display also in Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, Palmerston North, among other many cities. (Embacuba NZ).
