Women receive tribute in their International Day

The Pan Africanist Coalition of Organizations (PACO), the Association of Barbados-Cuba Friendship and the embassies of Cuba and Venezuela in Barbados paid tribute to the woman in a simple but a lot of content activity, on March 8. During an evening in which anecdotes abounded, acknowledgments, art, also gave an interesting exchange of experiences on the struggle for equality for women in different countries.
Barbadians friends, including Reverend Onkphra Wells, President of PACO highlighted the challenges that our societies have before them for effective female equality; recognition was reinforced by the militant attitude of several women who work in various organizations and trade unions and social responsibilities. For their part, representatives of Venezuela, Minister Carolina Caraballo and Deputy Chief Francisco Pérez, highlighted the changes made by the Bolivarian Government in favor of the women from the Commander President Hugo Chavez took the revolutionary power. While the Cuban Ambassador, Francisco Fernandez, explained the social achievements of the Cuban Revolution in its 57 years, including new legislation to promote equality of women and their development in family and society.
