Accra, May 1, 2022. - Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Anette Chao García, participates in the central event for Workers' Day in Ghana, at the Black Star Square in Accra. The ceremony, which was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ghana Trade Union Congress, Anthony Baah, was attended by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Vice President and three ministers and members of Parliament of the African country.
This historic day is celebrated in Ghana in different locations each time, to extend the festivity of such an important date to the whole country. This time it had a special connotation due to the limitations imposed by the coronavirus on events of this magnitude.
For many years the Ghana Trade Union Congress has had strong ties with the Cuban Workers Central Union and representatives from Cuba are among the few guests of honour participating in the event which, on this occasion, was also graced by the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador to the Ghanaian capital.
