Paris, 3 October 2025. – The staff of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Cuba to UNESCO expressed its firm support for peace, sovereignty, and respect for the principle of non-interference this Friday by subscribing to the declaration titled "It is Urgent to Prevent a Military Aggression Against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela."
The document, released from Havana, reflects the serious concern of the Cuban State regarding the increase in hostile actions, threats, and destabilization maneuvers directed against Venezuela, and warns of the risk of a military escalation with grave repercussions for the stability of Latin America and the Caribbean. In this context, Cuba reaffirms its permanent solidarity with the Venezuelan people and with President Nicolás Maduro Moros, as well as its rejection of any attempt to violate the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter and International Law.
By signing this declaration, the Permanent Delegation of Cuba to UNESCO, headed by Ambassador and Permanent Representative María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, ratifies the commitment of the Revolutionary Government to preserving peace, regional security, and defending the right of peoples to decide their own destiny without external pressures.
