XIV Forum of the Cuban Civil Society: a denunciation against the blockade

Representatives of more than 100 Cuban civil society organizations demanded in Havana the cessation of the US blockade against Cuba, a few days before the General Assembly of the United Nations is to discuss a draft resolution on the need to end the obsolete Washington policy.
 
The XIV Forum brought together representatives of national and other regional and international organizations based in Cuba, who reaffirmed their willingness to fight against an economic fence that is a violation of international law.
The president of the Cuban Association of the United Nations, Fermín Quiñones, told Radio Rebelde that "civil society urges US President Donald Trump to listen to the growing demands of the citizens of the northern country, the majority of Cuban residents in the United States, and members of his own party, who support the lifting of the blockade. "
 
"Fighting the blockade is part of our national dignity, it is part of our rebellion as Cubans, we will not give up until it is lifted," said the UNHCR president.
 
The XIV Forum of Cuban Civil Society against the Blockade concluded with the adoption of the final declaration that sets its eyes on November 1st, when a draft resolution calling for an end to the overproplonged US policy.
 
As Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno expressed during the day, the Cuban people are the protagonists of resistance in the permanent struggle against the blockade.
