XVI edition of the International Health for All Fair successfully inaugurated in Havana

Havana, April 24, 2025.- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana this Thursday, during the last day of the XVI edition of the International Health for All Fair, inaugurated last Monday.

In the context of the V International Convention “Cuba Salud 2025”, which will conclude tomorrow, this trade fair brought together 263 companies, 142 of them from 37 countries.

The Cuban president exchanged with his representatives, who toured the pavilions of the companies participating in the event, which promotes the exchange of knowledge, establishes businesses and strengthens strategic alliances for the development of nations.

For just over an hour, the Head of State visited most of the stands where he spoke with the exhibitors. He was interested in the projects of different Cuban and foreign companies, the joint cooperation relations and the prospects for expansion, with the signing of contracts and other legal instruments.

When walking this exhibition and commercial space, Díaz-Canel thanked the businessmen for their presence at the event, and wished them success in carrying out new projects. The president appreciated several results and advances in the application of science, innovation and technology in the field of health at an international level.

During the tour, the Head of State exchanged, in a special way, with managers, scientists and specialists of the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry, which has consolidated recognition in the world, facing the effects of the blockade imposed by the North American government and the complex international economic and financial situation that affects insurance in this sector.

Díaz-Canel also confirmed the technological advances and projects that seek to strengthen the production and distribution of medical supplies in Cuba, as well as cooperation initiatives with foreign entities.

On this visit to Pabexpo, the president was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Eduardo Martínez Díaz; the head of Public Health, José Angel Portal Miranda; and the member of the Central Committee and head of its Department of Attention to the Social Sector, Susely Morfa González.

The XVI International Fair “Health for All” has been described as an important space to bring together national and foreign companies, with an interest in promoting commercial relations, closing deals, identifying new markets and exchanging knowledge, a space also to recognize foreign companies that during these difficult years have remained by Cuba's side.
