Oslo, June 8, 2022. Paulius Eidukas, a member of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, made a presentation about his recent visit to Cuba for taking part in the XV International Brigade “May Day”, the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and the VII International Seminar for Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases, events held from April 23 to June 5.
The young man shared his impressions, while showing photos and videos that he took during the trip. He told anecdotes from his stay at the International Camp "Julio Antonio Mella", as well as went through the activities that he did, from voluntary work at several cooperativas in the Artemisa province and meetings with representatives from the local and national governments and political, social and mass organizations, to the spectacular May Day celebration with the massive parade at the Revolution Square in Havana.
Paulius, who is also member of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP), noted that the current media war against Cuba determine a one-sided coverage which is not attached to the truth, so the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association plays a key role in countering those narratives and providing genuine and truthful information that allows Norwegians to objectively know the Cuban reality.
Due to time limitations, Paulius could not cover all the details in the presentation. That´s why he and the Association will continue promoting initiatives so that all the experiences and lessons learned in Cuba are made accessible to as many people as possible. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
