The Speaker of the Parliament of Zimbabwe, Dr. Jacob Mudenda, received the Ambassador of Cuba Carmelina Ramirez on Monday morning, March 5th. In an extended meeting, the Zimbabwean politician praised the historic relations between his country and the Caribbean island based on mutual respect and cooperation. He recalled his recent visit to Cuba, last October, which he valued as unforgettable. He said he could appreciate the progress made by our country in health, education, tourism and also said that despite the economic difficulties imposed by the US blockade, Cuba continues to train young people in different professions. Ideas were also discussed on how to expand the existing cooperation between Cuba and Zimbabwe to other fields such as tourism and sports.
