Harare, January 23, 2026 – The Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs of Zimbabwe, Hon. Ziyambi Ziyambi, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Her Excellency Susellys Pérez Mesa, in an official meeting.
The Head of the diplomatic mission discussed with the Minister the bilateral results of the past year's work and the follow-up to legal frameworks in specific areas of focus, demonstrating the continued excellence of the relations between the two countries.
Ziyambi, in turn, acknowledged Cuba's contribution to Zimbabwe's independence and development, particularly its well-known experiences in health and education.
Pérez Mesa briefed the Minister on Cuba's position regarding the United States' fascist aggression against Venezuela, which violates International Law and the Charter of the United Nations.
In the exchange, both parties discussed details of the African country's delegation's participation in the 5th International Congress JURISCUBA 2026, scheduled for February 2-6 in Havana.
The Ambassador elaborated on the upcoming International Seminar in Cuba commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Helms-Burton Act, a prime example of the United States' unilateral coercive measures to strengthen the economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the island.
