Attendees heard a special message for the occasion from Fernando González, Hero of the Republic and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, within the framework of ICAP's 65th Anniversary.
ZICUFA Secretary General Ernest Nyatanga announced actions as part of the effort to help Cuba amid the complex situation exacerbated by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
Likewise, Amado Riol, the coordinator of the "Cuba Must Be Loved" project, addressed the supporters with a brief account of the work he does with the support of friends from around the world, who have participated in similar campaigns, especially with donations of medicines.
Participants recalled the figure of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, the Caribbean nation's decisive role in the African liberation struggle, the training of more than 3,000 professionals from Zimbabwe, and the deployment of medical and educational brigades in this country since the 1980s.
