Cuba and U.S. sign Memorandum of Understanding on marine and coastal ecosystems

With the aim of strengthening cooperation for the conservation of marine ecosystems, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the non-governmental organization The Ocean Foundation of the United States and the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) of Cuba. 
The agreement, signed by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in the United States, Lianys Torres Rivera, and the president of The Ocean Foundation, Mark J. Spalding, will create opportunities for collaboration in marine science research. 

The world's most important tobacco festival kicks off in Cuba

The 23rd edition of the Habano Festival begins today in this capital city to enlighten markets on the world's most demanded premium tobacco product.
 
During five days (February 27 to March 3), meetings, tastings, presentations, samples and debates will take place in this city and other scenarios, especially in the western region of Cuba, with people coming from more than 70 countries.

However, this Festival, whose first version was in 1999 (interrupted in person by the Covid-19 pandemic) had an interesting antecedent.

Solidarity with Cuba in its struggle for the end of the U.S. blockade manifested itself again today in many parts of the planet to demand the end of such policy, which is rejected by the international community.
 

U.S. Religious expressed support for Cuba

Representatives of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and the Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States ratified here their commitment and support to Cuba.

Lamarco Cable, co-executive of Global Ministries, expressed his solidarity and obligation to the Cuban people.

He pointed out that during his stay in the largest of the Antilles he was able to witness the negative impacts of U.S. policies, while assuring that he will share his impressions with authorities of the northern nation.

Cuban Foreign Minister denounces manipulation of information by transnational corporations

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced on Friday the manipulation and double standards of transnational consortiums such as Meta in operations against the largest Antillean island.

In his official Twitter profile, the foreign minister pointed out that this company is in charge of its policies with the former campaign manager of an anti-Cuban Republican senator.

He pointed out that Meta ideologically biases its recent report on "Adversary Threats", which announces an alleged network of coordinated inauthentic behavior in Cuba, associated to the Government.
