Full scale economic war against Cuba

With regard to the Seminar on Title III of the Helms-Burton Law at the University of Havana, it is not idle to refer a clause of that legislation that leaves no room for doubt. Usually, the US government points out that the blockade is a bilateral issue with Cuba. Year after year in the UN General Assembly, they repeated that as one of its arguments to justify the economic war against our country. Embassy of Cuba in the US pays tribute to José Martí on the anniversary of his death

127 years after the fall in combat of the National Hero, José Martí, the group of the Embassy of Cuba in the US carried out a small but emotional tribute to honor the memory of the Apostle.

During the act, those present addressed aspects of the life and work of José Martí and emphasized the importance of following his example for current and future generations of Cubans. This was a propitious occasion to reaffirm the commitment to keep Martí´s legacy alive.

Cuban president mourns death of renowned intellectual

Havana, May 19

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel mourned the death of prominent intellectual Esteban Morales, which occurred on Wednesday in the Colombian city of Medellin, due to a heart attack.

“The surprise death of Esteban Morales hurts. We will miss his intelligent, incisive and committed assessment of the problems of our time,” the president tweeted.

He also extended his condolences to family, friends and Cuban intellectuals, whom Esteban Morales honored with his work.

University of Havana holds seminar for the study of the Helms-Burton Law

Havana. - The First International Seminar "Legal Implications of the Helms-Burton Law in the North American legal system and its impact in the light of international law" began its sessions at the University of Havana. In an inaugural conference, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Doctor of Science Carlos Fernández de Cossío, highlighted, first of all, the imprint of Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada in the constant study of this instrument in the country.
