Cubans honor foreign service martyrs

The commemoration of the Day of the Cuban Foreign Service Martyrs salutes on Friday the several attacks to the diplomatic staff and facilities, promoted by the US hostile policy.
On September 11, 1980, diplomat Felix Garcia, accredited to the United Nations, was shot dead by a confessed Cuban terrorist in New York City.
Four decades later, the date recalls a long list of actions against the Cuban diplomatic officials.

Athens, 10 September. Cuba's Ambassador to Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina held meeting at the headquarters of the Cuban embassy with Palestine Ambassador to Greece Marwan Emile Toubassy.
Issues of mutual interest were addressed. Cuba's support for the just cause of the Palestinian people and Palestine's support against the US unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba was reaffirmed.

The Communist Party of Greece's (KKE) solidarity with the Cuban revolution and support against America's unjust economic, trade and financial blockade against Cuba was reaffirmed. KKE's support for the Greek initiative to apply for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize was also emphasized for the internationalist contingent of Cuban doctors named Henry Reeve, during the meeting between Cuba's ambassador to Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina and embassy counsellor José Oriol Marrero Martínez with KKE General Secretary (SG) Dimitris Koutsoumpas and KKE Political Bureau member in charge of International Relations Giorgio Marinos, at the venue of the party.

Athens, 8 September. An important event was held organized by the Work Club of the municipality of New Izmir. Dimitirs Zervas , president of the center, noted the importance of doing this event on achievements of education and science in Cuba on World Literacy Day, also mentioning the solidarity work of Cuban doctors in the world, as well as the Greek initiative to apply for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for the Cuban internationalist medical contingent Henry Reeve.
