The Hague, October 29, 2023. As part of the celebrations for National Culture Day, Cuba presented the multi-award-winning Cuban film “Fresa y Chocolate” at the Delft Latin American Film Festival.
The Cuban film was screened as the closing of the second edition of the Festival and was also a reason to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its first screening in Dutch cinemas.
The Hague, October 20, 2023. Students and professors from the Student Association for International Relations of the University of Groningen visited the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in the Netherlands.
During the visit, a group of approximately 30 students received a lecture on the Republic of Cuba. Some of the topics addressed were Our culture, our reality, achievements in the field of science and education and the constant confrontation with the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade.
The Hague, October 5, 2023. Professors and researchers from Wageningen University held a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to the Netherlands, Anet Pino Rivero.
During the pleasant exchange, the importance of the project "Connecting Cuban farmers with the Lighthouse Farms Network" was discussed. This initiative aims to fome Students and professors of the Leiden University Medical Center visited the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in the Netherlands.
Terrorist attack against the Cuban Embassy in the United States
The Hague, September 22, 2023. The ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Anet Pino Rivero, attended the inaugural event of the Chair of Hispanic Studies that took place at Radboud University.
During the presentation made by Professor Brigitte Adriaensen, she made reference to the work: Cuban Counterpoint of Tobacco and Sugar, by the prominent Cuban ethnologist and anthropologist Fernando Ortiz.
