British government reiterates its opposition to the US blockade on Cuba

The British Conservative government reiterated its opposition to the unilateral US blockade against Cuba and assured that its US counterpart is aware of the UK position on the issue, we knew today.

According to information disclosed on Tuesday by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign, a British Foreign Office official assured the House of Commons that the Executive authority headed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson does not support this measure against the Caribbean island.

Cubans in UK raise over 31,000 dollars for Cuba

The association of Cubans living in the United Kingdom announced today that it has raised 26,000 sterling pounds (almost 31,500 dollars) to help patients infected with Covid-19 in the Caribbean island.

“We did it! Thanks to all those who helped”,the organization Cubanos en UK posted in their web page, from where 28 days ago they started a campaign to acquire components of artificial ventilators that Cuba cannot buy due to the US blockade.

In the early hours of this Thursday 30 April 2020, an unknown individual shot at the Cuban Embassy premises with a firearm. Although the identity of the individual and his motivations are unknown, our association rejects any violent act against Cuban representatives abroad.

British Ambassador condemns aggression against Cuban diplomatic headquarters

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Cuba, Antony Stokes, condemned today the aggression against the island's embassy in the United States.

On his Twitter account, the British representative in Havana said he rejected any act of violence against a diplomatic premise and expressed relief that no damage was caused to the Cuban mission staff in Washington D.C.

In the early hours of April 30, an individual shot at the Cuban headquarters building in the U.S. capital, with no injuries reported.
