London. October 26, 2020. Cuban Ambassador Barbara Montalvo participated as a guest in the virtual meeting of the International Committee of the Northwest Region based in Manchester of the British Union of public services UNISON, with 1.4 million members, one of the largest From United Kingdom.
UNISON, with a long tradition of supporting Cuba in all its battles, has maintained the permanent condemnation of the United States government blockade against Cuba.
The world situation is ever more dangerous. The main economic, military and technological power disregards multilateral bodies and agreements; violates International Law and the UN Charter and threatens international peace and security through its aggressive and arrogant behavior. Its attempts to impose its domination and hegemony are renewed and strengthened. It stirs up conflicts and unleashes wars claiming humanitarian reasons or alleged anti-terrorism struggles.
London, 1 October 2020. - The Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Bárbara Elena Montalvo Álvarez, participated in the virtual seminar "Update on (COP26)", sponsored by Canning House.
The event was attended by Ms. Fiona Clouder, COP26 Regional Ambassador for Latin America and the Caribbean, and representatives of Latin American diplomatic missions accredited in the country.
The seminar provided an opportunity to exchange views on the efforts needed to confront climate change, in particular the need for funding and commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
London, 30 September 2020. The Cuba Solidarity Campaign in the UK (CSC) today launched a petition for the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban internationalist Henry Reeve Medical Brigade. The videoconference that provided the framework for the launch was attended from Havana by the Hero of the Republic of Cuba Rene Gonzalez Sehwerert.
