Addis Ababa commemorates the 48th anniversary of the Battle of Karramara

Addis Ababa, March 5, 2026.- At the Tiglachin Monument, also known as the Ethiopia-Cuba Friendship Park in Addis Ababa, a moving ceremony was held to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the Battle of Karramara, a pivotal battle in the defense of Ethiopian sovereignty during the Ogaden War.

"Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated on February 28 by the United States and Israel, which violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law". 

Cuba welcomes the appointment of the new Ambassador of South Sudan to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, February 27, 2026.- The Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia and concurrently accredited to the Republic of South Sudan, Meylin Suárez Álvarez, participated in the welcoming ceremony held in honor of Mr. Baak Valentino Wol, the new Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to Ethiopia and the African Union.
