127 anniversary of the restart of Cuba’s independence war
Nairobi, February 24, 2022- At 127 years of the restart of Cuba’s independence war, the Embassy of Cuba in Kenya commemorates that date by recalling the verses of our Rubén Martínez Villena when about that feat and its main author, he wrote:
 
“There was a long break in the bloody trace;
There were reborn dreams and feverish desire

The efforts made by the United States to impose the progressive expansion of NATO towards the borders of the Russian Federation are a threat against the national security of this country and regional and international peace.
 

On the way to UNEA 5.2

Nairobi, February 21, 2022- The opening of the informal negotiations and the preparatory workshops of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA 5.2), took place in Kenya. The Fifth Open-Ended Commitee of the Permanent Representatives (OECPR 5.2) kicked off the event, which runs from February 21 to March 4, and will conclude with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

UNEP Executive Director receives Cuba’s Ambassador to Kenya
Nairobi, February 10, 2022 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Kenya, Juan Manuel Rodríguez Vázquez, was received by Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), H.E. Inger Andersen. Also attending the event was the Third Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Nairobi, Edisleydi Curbelo Garcia.
 

Fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA)

Nairobi, 8th February, 2022- Hosted by the UN Environment Programme, the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) brings together representatives of the 193 Member States of the UN, businesses, civil society and other stakeholders to agree on policies to address the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

The resumed fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5.2) takes place online and in Nairobi on 28 February – 2 March 2022.
