Nairobi, April 23. Following an invitation from the Cuban Minister of Public Health, Dr. Roberto Morarles Ojeda, the Secretary of the Cabinet (Minister) for Health, Mrs. Sicily K. Kariuki, heads the delegation of Kenya to the International Convention and Trade Fair for Health "Cuba -Health 2018 ", to be held in Havana from 23 to 27 April.
Nairobi, April 12. The Honorable Sicily K. Kariuki, Minister of Health of the Republic of Kenya, received today at the headquarters of that Ministry in Nairobi, the Ambassador of Cuba in Kenya, Ernesto Gómez Díaz, who paid a courtesy call on her.
During the fraternal meeting, both sides discussed the current and prospective status of bilateral cooperation in the field of health, while reviewing the level of compliance with the main agreements adopted during the recent visit to Cuba by the President of Kenya, H.E. Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta.

The visit, according to the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit, “steered bilateral relations and cooperation between Kenya and the Caribbean nation to a new level”.

Cuba has honoured Kenya’s founding father, as a towering figure in African and Caribbean liberation movement.
A bust of founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was unveiled at the Park of African Heroes in Cuba on Thursday March 15 at a ceremony attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Cuban leadership said the unveiling of the Bust of the late President Kenyatta at the Park of African Heroes in Havana was significant as it goes along way in demonstrating the rich history Kenya and Cuba have in terms of Liberation struggles.
