Vice President of Namibia receives the Cuban Ambassador.

The vice president of Namibia, Nangolo Mbumba, received the Cuban ambassador in this country, Giraldo Mazola. The Cuban diplomat conveyed a congratulatory message from the Government and the Party of the Caribbean island to the Namibian leader for his recent posting.

The Namibian politician was Secretary General of SWAPO until the last congress of the political organization, held last December. President Geingob appointed Mbumba at the beginning of February of this year as Vice President of the Nation, when Nickey Iyambo resigned due to health problems.

In the pleasant meeting were exchanged about the excellent state of bilateral relations and the possibilities to expand them, especially in the economic and commercial spheres. Likewise, some topics of international news were analyzed.

The Cuban Ambassador and the Namibian Vice President agreed on the positive outcome of the recent visit of the Namibian Prime Minister, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, to Cuba.

Vice President Mbumba reiterated the willingness of his country and government to continue supporting Cuba in the struggle for the lifting of the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade of the United States and his commitment to continue working to strengthen bilateral ties.

THE PERSON WHO MAKES THE PROCEDURES WILL DELIVER IN THE CONSULAR OFFICE OF THE EMBASSY THE WRITTEN EVIDENCE OF THE DEPOSIT CORRESPONDING TO THE SERVICE HE/SHE NEEDS.
ONCE IT HAS BEEN CHECKED THAT SUCH AMOUNT IS INCLUDED IN THE EMBASSY’S STATEMENT ACCOUNT, THE EMBASSY WILL ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT WITH SUCH PERSON AND THE SERVICE WILL BE MADE.

Ambassador of Cuba holds meeting with the Prime Minister of Namibia.

The Prime Minister of Namibia, Hon. Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, received the Cuban ambassador, Giraldo Mazola, to exchange details about her upcoming visit to Havana. The Namibian Premier will travel to Cuba to fulfil an invitation made by Army General Raul Castro.

During her stay in the Caribbean country, the also member of the Political Bureau of SWAPO, will review with the Cuban counterpart the excellent state of political and cooperation relations.

Likewise, it is expected to hold meetings with young Namibians who are studying medicine and other specialties in Cuba.

The visit will help to further strengthen the historic ties of friendship between both nations.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Peya Mushelenga, and other officials of the Foreign Ministry and the Office of the Prime Minister.

Embassy of Cuba in Namibia commemorates Anniversary 59 of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

Last Thursday, January 25th, the Embassy of Cuba in Namibia celebrated the 59th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution. The evening was attended by around 150 guests, including the Minister of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, Bishop Zephania Kameeta, and its Deputy Minister Aino Kapewangolo, Vice Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maureen Hinda, Vice Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Chief S. Ankama, and officials from other ministries. The reception was also attended by a broad representation of the diplomatic corps, Cuban collaborators, Cuban residents and members of the Namibia-Cuba Friendship Association.

Ambassador Giraldo Mazola, in the keynote speech of the evening, thanked the historical and unconditional support of the Namibian brothers to Cuba and the international representatives for their favourable vote in condemning the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade of the United States Government against Cuba. Likewise, the Ambassador condemned this genocidal policy and the latest recrudescence measures implemented by the Donald Trump administration. In this regard, he criticized the creation of the "Cuba Internet Task Force" aimed at promoting subversion in Cuba.

The Cuban diplomat also recalled the achievements of the Revolution in these 59 years, in spite of the permanent aggression and the attempts to annihilate this process. He also recalled the undisputed leader of the Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.

For her part, Maureen Hinda thanked the Cuban people for the great contributions made in the struggle for the independence of Namibia. She highlighted the achievements of Cuba over these years and condemned the aggressive policy of the US governments against the Revolution.

Likewise, she reiterated the unconditional support of the Namibian people to Cuba in its struggle for the lifting of the blockade. The Deputy Minister of the Namibian Foreign Ministry condemned the latest actions of President Donald Trump aimed at halting progress in relations between Havana and Washington.

Maureen Hinda said that the bonds of brotherhood that unite the Caribbean island and the African country will continue to be unbreakable.

Cuban Medical Brigade in Namibia celebrates its XXI Scientific Forum.

On January 16, the XXI Scientific Forum of the Cuban Medical Brigade was held in Windhoek, Namibia. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services of Namibia, Juliet Kavetuna, the Cuban Ambassador, Giraldo Mazola, other members of the Cuban diplomatic representation and a group of Cuban health professionals, representing their colleagues from different regions of this African country.

The papers presented covered case studies, analysis of particular experiences with some patients, practical solutions to specific problems and data collection and analysis. All the investigations had a high quality and were very interesting for the topics addressed, as well as for their recommendations and conclusions. At the end of the event a mention was given, a second, and a first place.

At the closing ceremony, the Deputy Minister of MOHSS expressed her gratitude for having been invited to the Forum and for the papers presented. She also urged Cuban doctors to continue being creative and innovative to continue helping the health system of her country.

On the other hand, the ambassador of Cuba, Giraldo Mazola, praised the rigor of the presented works and the English language skills of the doctors. He also stressed the importance of the work they do in each of the health centers where they work.

The Ambassador urged the participants to continue to represent the Cuban people and their Revolution with dignity and to dedicate to both of them the Scientific Forum.
