Cuba reiterates its right to defend its integrity and sovereignty.
Cuba is a small island developing state that faces the longest and most incomprehensive system of unilateral restrictive measures applied against any country: the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years, which currently has caused severe damages in the country's economy.
The United Seychelles Party has sent “heartfelt congratulations” to the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermùdez, on his appointment as the new First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba.
In his letter of congratulations, the leader of the United Seychelles party, Dr Patrick Herminie, writes:
“We feel, indeed, privileged to have established diplomatic ties with your country since 1978; a longstanding friendship, built on mutual understanding and a strong sense of united purpose.
20 March 2021 “On the occasion of vote next month in the United Nations General Assembly on the Report by Cuba on Resolution 74/7 of the United Nations General Assembly, ‘Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba’, United Seychelles wishes to reiterate its unwavering support and solidarity to the Cuban people in their resolute struggle to end the protracted inhumane blockade.

Havana, August 6, 2020.- The contingent of the Henry Reeve Brigade that served at the Lomé Commune Regional Hospital Center, in Togo, returned to Cuba on Wednesday after three months of confronting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upon their arrival at the José Martí International Airport in Havana the team was received by video conference by Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, who conveyed to the internationalists the gratitude and pride they represent for the country's top leadership and for the people in general.
