The Vice-President of the Republic and President of the Organization for Environmental Protection, Dr. Masume Ebtekar, chaired the official ceremony of planting the amity tree in the surrounding area of the emblematic Milad Tower, to contribute to preserve the Tehran’s environment.
The ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Persian nation and Cuba was represented by Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, who was accompanied by the Counselor in charge of Consular Affairs, Rebeca Fernandez Nuñez.
The Cuban Embassy in Tehran did not want to miss an important event such as the International Women's Day, which is celebrated in many parts of the world, and met to pay homage to all the women who work in the Mission.
In his speech for the occasion, Ambassador Vladimir González Quesada stressed that it has already become a tradition to meet every March 8th to congratulate and charm the Cuban women who share in the work and daily life with the rest of the collective’s members.
The Tehran Mayor's Office convened its traditional annual tree planting ceremony to contribute to the reforestation of the city and its surroundings, in which representatives of the Bolivarian Alliance for Peoples of the Our America- Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) were present.
The official ceremony was chaired by the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Ali Larijani, and the Mayor of Tehran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and was attended by City Council officials and members of the accredited Diplomatic Corps.
