150 years of October 10, 1868 - founding event of the National Liberation Revolution of #Cuba
On October 10, 1868, the patriot lawyer Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (1819-1874) freed his slaves and took the Cubans into arms, the first founding event of the #Cuba National Liberation Revolution.
The ringing of the bell of his sugar-cane factory "La Demajagua", Manzanillo, in the east of the country, meant 150 years ago a triumph of the independence ideas, against the Hispanic fundamentalism and the reformist and annexation movements.
In the words of Céspedes that day: "The soldier of duty must not allow the aurora to surprise him in his bed."
