Members of the Australian Parliament register nomination of the Cuban medical brigade ¨Henry Reeve¨ to the Nobel Peace Prize

Canberra, 25th January 2021.- Several members of the Australia-Cuba Parliamentary Group at the federal level recently signed the nomination of the International Medical Brigade ¨Henry Reeve¨ for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. The federal member of the Parliament (MP) for the Labor Party, Maria Vamvakinou, formally registered the aforementioned nomination to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on behalf of the eleven signatory MPs.

Australia-Cuba Friendship Society condemns the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries "sponsors of terrorism"

Canberra, 15th January, 2021.- The Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) issued a Statement on Friday condemning the unfair and arbitrary inclusion of Cuba by the outgoing United States administration in its unilateral list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.

Australia-Cuba Friendship Society holds its National Consultation.

Canberra, December 7, 2020.- Last Saturday members of different branches of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) held their annual National Consultation.

On the Cuban side, José Prieto Cintado, Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Leima Martínez Freire, Director of Asia and Oceania of that organization and the Ambassador of Cuba to Australia, Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, participated in the event.

Canberra, December 4, 2020.- The Cuban Ambassador to Australia, Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, sent a congratulatory message this December 3 to the new graduates of the literacy program that is developed in aboriginal communities of Australia with the application of the Cuban method "Yes I can."

Fidel is honoured in Australia on the fourth anniversary of his physical disappearance

Canberra, November 25, 2020. - This afternoon, an emotional activity was held in tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of his physical disappearance. Besides the personnel of the Cuban diplomatic mission, also attended the Heads of Mission of the Embassies of Venezuela and El Salvador, as well as members of the Australia - Cuba Friendship Association of Canberra.
