Canberra, August 7, 2019. - The Minister of Commerce, Tourism and Investment of Australia, Mr. Simon Birgminghan, received in a courtesy meeting the Cuban Ambassador in that country, Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez.
On occasion of the 208th anniversary of the independence of Venezuela, the diplomatic representation in Australia of the South American country unveiled a bust remembering El Libertador, Simón Bolívar, in the facade of its Embassy.
The event was attended by Latin American diplomatic representatives, members of the Australia-Venezuela Solidarity Association,union leaders and Venezuelan residents.
Canberra, July 2, 2019.- For the second time in a row, members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) met in front of the United States Consulate General in the city of Perth, to demand the end of the policy of blockade against Cuba, recently intensified with new unilateral measures by the Donald Trump´s administration .
Canberra, June 17, 2019. - Members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society in Canberra organized on Saturday, June 15, an event of solidarity with the Cuban people which main objective was to raise funds for the pediatric hospital of Las Tunas province.
In the activity, which is traditionally held twice a year, a sample of Cuban music was offered to the audience, as well as the opportunity to taste some of the most representative dishes of the island's cuisine and cocktails.
Canberra, June 12, 2019. Members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) in the State of Western Australia gathered at the US Consulate General in the city of Perth, in an act of protest against the measures implemented by the current US Administration to strengthen the blockade against the island.
With banners of "Down with the Helms-Burton Act" and "Lift the US blockade on Cuba", the demonstrators carried out a noble gesture of solidarity with Cuba which they intend to maintain with a monthly frequency in the future.
