Cuban Ambassador participates in New Zealand National Day celebrations.

Waitangi, February 5. The Cuban Ambassador attended the celebrations of the national day (Waitangi Day), where he spoke with the Governor-General, Her Excellency, the Right Honorable Dame Patsy Reedy.

The Governor was interested in the progress of Cuban vaccines against COVID 19 and expressed her best wishes for Cuba.

The Ambassador also attended the official ceremony on the field where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840.

Cuban Ambassador attends reception for New Zealand National Day.

Waitangi, February 4. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés attended the reception offered by the Foreign Minister, the Right Honorable Nanaia Mahuta, on the occasion of the commemoration of Waitangi Day, in the city of the same name.

The Ambassador had the opportunity to greet the Minister and listen to her speech on New Zealand's foreign policy priorities for the next term.

Cuba and New Zealand share positions on numerous issues on the international agenda.

Meeting with friends of Cuba in Auckland.

Auckland, January 30. The Cuban Ambassador and Consul Dalila Vazquez held a meeting with members of the solidarity movement with Cuba, including members of its national leadership.

It was an interesting exchange about the situation in Cuba, our help to other countries, and the solidarity we received in New Zealand and in the rest of the world.

An opportunity to thank those who for years have defended our cause.

Cuban Ambassador meets with Mayor of Rotorua.

Rotorua, January 29. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés met with H.W Steve Chadwick, Mayor of the tourist city Rotorua, to coordinate the celebration of the "Rotorua Cuban Festival" on March 6.

The festival's artistic director, the Cuban dancer Greydis Montero, also participated.

Although this year teachers and dancers from Australia will not be able to attend, everything is ready for a reduced, but equally successful edition of this festival of Afro-Cuban music and dance.

Cuban music in the celebrations of the city of Wellington.

Wellington, January 26. As part of the festivities for the anniversary of the city of Wellington, organized by the City Council, the group "Son de Cuba" performed at the Botanic Garden.
