Medal of Friendship Receives Two Friends of Cuba in the Philippines

Kuala Lumpur, October 19- Cuba's ambassador to the Philippines, Ibete Fernández, honored Dr Francisco Nemenzo, former president of the University of the Philippines and President of the Cultural and Friendship Association Philippines-Cuba Philcuba, with the medal of friendship and comrade Antonio Paris, Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Philippines PKP 1930, member of the Filipino-Cuban Friendship Association.

Kuala Lumpur, October 19- Cuba's ambassador to the Philippines, Ibete Fernández Hernández, paid a courtesy call to the country's trade and investment Secretary, Ramón López.

During the meeting the ambassador presented the business opportunities in Cuba and addressed the main aspects of the process of updating the Cuban economy as well as the priorities of the development plan until 2030.

BANGKOK, October 19, 2017.- The Cuban Ambassador to Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, was welcomed today by the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of the Kingdom of Thailand, General Chatchai Sarikulya, who reiterated the condolences of the people and government of Thailand for the death on November 25, 2016 of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and thanked the messages of condolence of the Cuban People and Government for the death on October 13 of the same year of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX).

Cuban Minister of Tourism Visits Canada

Ottawa, October 16, 2017- Last Friday, Cuban Minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero, concluded a four-day visit to Canada, which included a tour to Montreal and Toronto. The purpose of the visit was to stress that Cuba has rebounded from the ravages of hurricane Irma and that it is ready to welcome tourists, a message he has sent out to travel agencies, tour operators and the general public.
