Headed by the tireless social activist Robert "Bobby" Clarke, a group of Barbadians intellectuals participated as panelists in the Regional Seminar on the implementation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, held in Cuba between 21 and 23 September, following up on the Declaration of the Heads of State of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), adopted in Havana in January 2011.

An event of such importance in the lives of the friends of the Cuban Revolution worldwide, as 90th birthday of its historic leader, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, could not pass unnoticed in Barbados, which was visited by him on three relevant occasions. Under this premise, many members of the various organizations members of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MSC), gathered in another symbolic venue, the Institute of Cultural Cooperation of the Embassy of Venezuela, to share and highlight several moments of this legendary statesman.
