Responding to an invitation by the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC) and its national unions for several organizations Barbadian labor movement, a representative delegation of the NUPW (National Union Public Workers) and BSTU (Barbados Secondary Teachers Union) attended the May Day international celebration in Havana, which included a massive march in parade of about a million population and witness the ceremony from the presidential platform in the historical Revolution Square.

Cuba and Venezuela to celebrate historical dates linked to Independence.

Cuba has joined Venezuela in celebrating its 206th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the 55th anniversary of the Playa Girón´s Victory in Cuba, both on April 19th. A special ceremony was held at the Venezuelan Embassy where wreaths were laid by the Ambassadors of these sister nations, José Gómez and Francisco Fernández, accompanied by officers and officials of both diplomatic missions in Barbados.

Cuba participates in WTO Regional Trade Policy Course for the Caribbean

Cuba was represented by Marta Castillo, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, in Regional Trade Policy Course for the Caribbean countries sponsored by the World Trade Organization (WTO), which took place in Barbados from April 3 to May 27, 2016 with the attendance of delegates from more than 25 countries in the region.

Minister Blackett to evaluate a Cuban technical assistance project on Alzheimer.
