The Cuba –Belize cooperation continues

Belize, October 13th, 2017. Andria  Rosado a representative of “The Coastal Zone Management Authority & Institute of Belize”  will be attendingthe Training Workshop “Disaster Risk Management and Adaption to Climate Change to enhance resilience in communities and ecosystems in the Caribbean region”. The training event will take place in Havana from October 16th to October 20th, 2017 and  is part of the Cuba-CARICOM cooperation.

Thirteen Students leave on scholarships for Cuba

The Embassy of Cuba and the Government of Belize today held a farewell ceremony for thirteen young Belizeans travelling to Cuba to pursue studies in medicine, dentistry and health technologies as part of the CUBA – CARICOM program through which Cuba provides scholarships to citizens of its sister nations in CARICOM.  The ceremony was hosted at the Embassy of Cuba in Belize City where Cuba’s Ambassador to Belize, Lissette Perez Perez, spoke to the media.

Belize sends off thirteen to study in Cuba

The Cuban Embassy hosted a farewell event for students who are leaving Belize to pursue studies in Cuba. The students were selected from a pool of about seventy applicants to form a part of this y ear’s cohort of the CUBA-CARICOM programme through which Cuba provides scholarships to citizens of its sister nations of the Caribbean Community. Students from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean have benefitted from this program.

Cuban and Mexican embassies to host cultural musical presentations

A joint collaboration between the Mexican and Cuban Embassies to Belize will result in a cultural musical presentation showcase at the Institute of Mexico in Belize City on June 6th.

The event is expected to commence at 7:00 p.m., and will gorm part of the 2017 International Jazz Festival.

Two musical groups: “Morena Son”, from Santiago de Cuba and “Casa Wagner” from Tijuana Mexico will entertain the audience.
