Cuba grants eight medical scholarships to Yemeni students

Riyadh, December 29th - Based on the cultural agreement in force between the Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Yemen, Cuban authorities decided to grant eight scholarships to Yemeni students to begin their medical studies on the Island, at the school year 2021-2022.

The scholarships were handled with the Department of Collaboration that Cuba Offers at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), through the agile coordination between the Embassy of Cuba in Saudi Arabia -with concurrence in Yemen- and his Yemeni counterpart.

Havana, Dec 25 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of Cuba and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding to expand and consolidate cooperation relations, local press reported today.
In the context of a visit by a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and Saudi ambassador in Havana, Faisal bin Falah Al Harbi, signed the document.

Riyadh, November 29th - The Cuban Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, was received by Dr. Ibrahim Bin Mahmoud Al-Nahas, president of the Saudi-Cuban Parliamentary Committee of Friendship in the Consultative Council (Shura).

During the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Saudi legislative power, the Cuban diplomat conveyed the greetings of the International Relations Commission in the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), particularly of its president, Yolanda Ferrer Gomez.

Riyadh, November 8th - The Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vladimir Gonzalez, attended the reception offered by the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Riyadh, at the invitation of its Ambassador, H.E. Dr. Shaya Mohsen Al-Zandani.

In the activity, also attended by a selection of members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Kingdom, the Ambassador had the opportunity to exchange with Yemeni Undersecretary of Foreign Relations for Political Affairs, H.E. Dr. Mansour Bayash.

Riyadh, November 3rd - The Ambassador of Cuba to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, was received by the Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Sultan Bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, who was accompanied by other executives of this important institution.

During the meeting, the Ambassador and his host reviewed the long-standing relationships between the fund and the different Cuban organizations and institutions, as well as the bilateral projects that are in execution, based on the different agreements signed.

Firstly, the Cuban Ambassador paid a cortesy visit to his counterpart from Djibouti and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, H.E. Mr. Dya Eddin Said Bamakhrama, who welcomed him and commented on the development of diplomatic life in this Arab nation, based on his 18 years of experience as Head of Mission.

Riyadh, September 19th - The new designated Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada, was summoned to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, to present Copies of his Letters of Credentials to the Deputy Minister for Protocol Affairs, Mr. Khalid Bin Faisal Al-Sehli. The Counselor of the Embassy, Fernando Duque Gomez, also attended the meeting.

Initially, Mr. Al-Sehli welcomed the Cuban diplomat and congratulated him on his appointment as the new Chief of Mission of the Island in the Kingdom.
