Díaz-Canel: relations between Cuba and the DPRK are historic, and based on mutual respect.

The second day of President Miguel Díaz-Canel’s official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) began with a warm greeting he conveyed to the North Korean people from the Cuban people and Army General Raúl Castro.

First on the day’s agenda was a meeting with the President of the Supreme People’s Assembly Presidium, Kim Yong Nam, where Díaz-Canel commented, “Relations between Cuba and the DPRK are historic, and based on mutual respect.”

Next he visited Kim Il-sung University, established in 1946.

Official talks between Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, of unquestionable importance, took place in the Great Kremlin Palace.

Greetings from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, were conveyed by President Díaz-Canel to the leader of this sister nation.

Cuba & China: distant geographically, close in ideas.

The Cuban and Chinese people know well the meaning of the friendship and mutual respect they have shared for years. Thus it was no surprise to hear Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez say that he felt “at home” here.

During the third day of his official visit to China, the Cuban President paid tribute to Mao Zedong, the supreme leader of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Republic of China, from 1949 through 1976.

The world condemns U.S. blockade of Cuba in the United Nations.

Foreign Minister Rodriguez began his presentation of the resolution shortly before 11:00am, following the interventions of a number of representatives who called for an end to the blockade, including those from Myanmar, Equatorial Guinea, and Grenada.
