Botswana represented in the African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba
Dr. Phatsimo Lorraine, graduated of the Latin-American School of Medicine (ELAM), in 2019, is the representative of Botswana to the VI African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba held in Abuja, Nigeria, from September 23 to 25, 2019.
In the event she meets, learns and shares ideas with some revolutionary leaders who follow the legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution.
Cuba and Botswana, exchange on sports cooperation.
H.E. the Ambassador Patricia L. Pego Guerra meets with Mr. Tsekedi Khama, Honourable Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development of Botswana, and his staff.
They agree on the existence of new opportunities for the bilateral cooperation, particularly in sports.
Cuban jazz player Michel Herrera visits Botswana
The outstanding Cuban musician Michel Herrera Alvarez and his band, visits Botswana from September 6th to 9th 2019.
Among other activities, they have an excellent Workshop on Cultural Exchange, in Gaborone, with the attendance of Motswana and other nationalities artists and fans, which enjoy and highly appreciate the opportunity.
Members of the Cuban Medical Team are also present in the event.
Cuba presents at Diplomatic Corps Fair
The Embassy of Cuba participates in the Botswana Diplomatic Fair, celebrated at Young Africa Botswana (YAB), in Gaborone.
Cuban stand displays traditional products that are appreciated by other diplomats and general public, that includes members of the Cuban Medical Team and Cuban residents in the country.
Official visit of Ambassador to Lobatse
H.E. the Ambassador Patricia L. Pego Guerra makes an Official Visit to the district of Lobatse, in the South of the country.
In the meetings with local authorities and members of Parliament, the contribution of Cuba in sectors like health, sport and education is acknowledged.
The Ambassador also pays a Courtesy Call on the Botswana Meat Commission Acting CEO Dr. Boitumelo Mogome-Maseko, to discuss areas of potential cooperation between Botswana Meat Commission and the Republic of Cuba.
