Cuban residents in Ottawa celebrate a day of sports, recreation and traditions

Ottawa, September 27, 2026. – The Cuban community residing in Ottawa and Gatineau enjoyed a day of outdoor gathering, sports and recreation this Sunday, organized by the Association of Cuban Residents in Ottawa-Gatineau.

Held in a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere, the gathering brought together Cubans of different ages for a day dedicated to sports, recreation and strengthening bonds within the community.

Far from the Homeland, but united

Ottawa - This September 27th, Cuban residents in Canada celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), together with the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Canada.

As is customary on this date, the celebration was accompanied by dominoes, popular Cuban music, and the traditional streamers and caldosa (a type of stew), indispensable during this national holiday.
