London, 16 June. Cuban cinema is currently enjoying a period of growing visibility and recognition in the United Kingdom. Classics and iconic productions from the island are appearing with increasing frequency in prestigious British cinemas, universities and cultural venues, driven by festivals, specialised screenings and the commitment of artists and supporters of Cuba who recognise the universal value of a cinematic tradition inextricably linked to the nation’s history and culture.

 The second edition of the Cuban film festival, Screen Cuba, came to a successful conclusion in London, highlighting the growing appreciation of the British public, especially among young people, for the island's cinema.

London dressed up from 16 to 29 March 2025 to host the second edition of Screen Cuba, the festival that celebrates the richness and diversity of Cuban cinema. In the capital, the screenings took place in two emblematic venues: The Garden Cinema and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), which contributed to consolidating Screen Cuba as an interesting event on the London cultural billboard. The cities of Aberystwyth, Pontypridd, Oxford and Nottingham also hosted presentations.

London, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) A new edition of the film festival Screen Cuba: Films to Change the World is in the works in the United Kingdom and promises to showcase part of the Caribbean island’s extensive cinematographic production.

The event will screen films that are part of the best of Cuban cinema from the 1960s to date, according to Cuban diplomatic sources.
