Vaccination against Covid19 available for international travelers in Cuba.

Kingston, Jamaica, 21 March 2022. Now you can go to Cuba and get vaccinated against Covid19!

The vaccine can be received in all the touristic hotspots of the country. Cost of the immunization depends on whether you need the complete program (3 doses) or only a booster shot. A printed vaccination certificate and a QR code for electronic verification is handed over to the recipient afterwards. The three approved Cuban vaccines (Sobrerana 2, Abdala and Soberana Plus) are available for use.

Suva, August 18th. The Ambassador of Cuba in Fiji, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago participated in a virtual working session convened by the Secretariat of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) to exchange with the Dialogue Partners, role held by the Caribbean country, on the main actions of that Organization and its Members in the face of the impact of the COVID19 pandemic.

Havana, May 20.-  The 26 brigades of Cuban doctors from the Henry Reeve Contingent who are working today in about twenty countries, have so far treated more than 26,000 patients from Covid-19.

The meeting of the Cuban government's temporary working group held this Tuesday, revealed that the health professionals from the Caribbean island working in 24 nations saved the lives of 976 people affected by the pandemic.

"We can contribute more to saving human lives by acting with responsibility," insisted the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, yesterday afternoon, April 8, during the daily meeting to evaluate the epidemiological situation in the country and implementation plans to control propagation of the new coronavirus in the country.

The Prime Minister announced the decision to indefinitely extend due dates for electricity, water and gas bills, in order to close public offices where payment for these services is normally made.

Ministry of Public Health reports 67 persons infected and the country’s second death.

Havana, march 26, 2020.- Francisco Durán, director of epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, reported in a press conference that the 45-year-old Russian citizen hospitalized in Cuba, had died from complications associated with Covid-19 and other chronic conditions, in this case a history of Type II diabetes mellitus, despite a concerted effort on the part of a team of doctors.

Of the 67 patients diagnosed with the disease, 64 remain hospitalized, including two in critical condition.

Allow me to mention that it has been thanks to a technical miracle and the support of the Secretariat that Cuba has been able to participate in this video-conference.  It so happens that the website that hosts the platform of the Association, through which all participants are able to connect to this important meeting, has denied access to Cuba for reasons of the blockade imposed by the United States against our country.

Cuba confirms first three imported cases of new coronavirus

Cuba's Ministry of Public Health confirmed on Wednesday night the first three cases of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in tourists from Italy.
 
In an official statement read on Cuban TV prime news hour the health authorities explained that the three Italian travelers arrived in Havana on Monday 9 and went to Trinidad, in the central province of Sancti Spíritus, where they were detected to have respiratory sysmptons.
