CELAC-EU Summit rejects blockade of Cuba and its extraterritorial impact

The final declaration of the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union (EU), which concluded June 11 in Brussels, rejected the U.S. blockade against Cuba and its extraterritorial impact.

The 2nd CELAC-EU Summit was held over two days in the Justus Lipsius building, headquarters of the European Council, and saw the participation of more than 40 heads of state and government and high level delegations from 61 countries throughout the two regions.

Declaration by the Revolutionary Government

For several years, it had been a permanent interest of the Cuban government to adopt a new immigration agreement with the United States to solve the serious problems that continued to affect migration relations, despite the existence of bilateral agreements in this area.

This agreement removes the commonly known "dry feet-wet feet" policy and the provisional admission program (parole) for Cuban health professionals, which Washington applied in third countries.

Cuban Ambassador meets with Director General from the Indonesian Foreign Ministry

Indonesia, January 9, 2016. Cuban Ambassador Nirsia Castro Guevara and the Director General for America and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Muhammad Anshor, held a working meeting at the Chancellery's headquarters during which they addressed the celebration of 57th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the prospects for the development of links in different areas. The meeting was also attended by the Director for North America and Central America Adam M. Tugio.

HH the Emir sends Congratulations to President of Cuba

Doha, January 01, 2017.-HH the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent Sunday a message of congratulations to President of the Republic of Cuba Raúl Castro on the anniversary of his Country's Independence Day.

Also on the same date were sent greeting messages to the President of the Republic of Cuba, Raúl Castro Ruz by His Highness, the Deputy Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

Thus emphasized Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, closing the eight period of ordinary sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power.

The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution has bequeathed to us his example, his optimism, and confidence in victory. The best monument to his ideas and work is to make a reality of the postulates he outlined in his concept of Revolution, which he announced May 1, 2000, and to which millions of Cubans expressed their commitment.
