Meeting between Iberoamerican and Caribbean Consuls with IOM Delegation

Indonesia, February 8th, 2017. The Embassy of Cuba hosted today the first meeting of 2017 of the Group of Consuls from Iberoamerica and the Caribbean in Indonesia, with the participation of Mark Getchel Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The meeting chaired by Cuban Ambassador Nirsia Castro Guevara, who received Mark Getchel minutes before the gathering, served to update the Consuls on the main actions and challenges of the Organization in Indonesia, as well as to exchange information of interest to both sides.

CELAC-EU Summit rejects blockade of Cuba and its extraterritorial impact

The final declaration of the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union (EU), which concluded June 11 in Brussels, rejected the U.S. blockade against Cuba and its extraterritorial impact.
The 2nd CELAC-EU Summit was held over two days in the Justus Lipsius building, headquarters of the European Council, and saw the participation of more than 40 heads of state and government and high level delegations from 61 countries throughout the two regions.

Declaration by the Revolutionary Government

For several years, it had been a permanent interest of the Cuban government to adopt a new immigration agreement with the United States to solve the serious problems that continued to affect migration relations, despite the existence of bilateral agreements in this area.
 
This agreement removes the commonly known "dry feet-wet feet" policy and the provisional admission program (parole) for Cuban health professionals, which Washington applied in third countries.

Indonesia, January 9, 2016. Cuban Ambassador Nirsia Castro Guevara and the Director General for America and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Muhammad Anshor, held a working meeting at the Chancellery's headquarters during which they addressed the celebration of 57th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the prospects for the development of links in different areas. The meeting was also attended by the Director for North America and Central America Adam M. Tugio.
