Cuba and the United Kingdom explore opportunities for economic and commercial cooperation

Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the United Kingdom met with representatives of the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on 10 April.

Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the United Kingdom met with representatives of the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on 10 April. The meeting was part of efforts to identify new areas of bilateral and regional cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed trade and investment opportunities with Cuba. The Cuban side was represented by the press adviser, Orestes Martínez, and the first secretary for economic and commercial affairs, Soima Méndez.

Cuban Foreign Minister Denounces Terrorist Attack Against the Cuban Embassy in the US

The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, denounced on his Twitter account a terrorist attack perpetrated on the night of Sunday, September 24 against the Cuban embassy in the United States. Apparently, an individual threw two Molotov cocktails. So far, no injuries to personnel have been reported and details are being clarified.

It is the second violent attack against the Cuban diplomatic headquarters in Washington since April 2020. On that occasion, an individual fired an assault rifle at the headquarters.

This article is a reflection on the application of the Cuban literacy methodology Yo, Sí Puedo to the Australian setting. The Yo, Sí Puedo / Yes, I Can! model developed in Cuba by the Instituto Pedagógico Latinoamericano y Caribeño, IPLAC (Institute of Pedagogy for Latin America and the Caribbean) has been successfully implemented across the Global South as a strategy of adult literacy. It is a legacy of our Latin American revolutionary roots, with its origin in the Freirean pedagogy of the oppressed.

Suomi ja Kuuba allekirjoittivat lentosopimuksen ilmailualan palveluista

Kuuban ja Suomen viranomaiset allekirjoittivat  ilmailualan palveluihin liittyvän sopimuksen, jolla suomalaiset lentoyhtiöt saavat lupia ja oikeuksia. Tämä puolestaan lisää eurooppalaisten turistien määrää saarella. Kahdenvälinen sopimus allekirjoitettiin Kuuban liikenneministeriössä Suomen ulkoministeriön Amerikan ja Aasian osastopäällikön Kimmo Lähdevirran sekä Kuuban varaministeri Eduardo Rodríguesin läsnäollessa.

Kuuba, 14.3.2017. Kuuban ulkoministeriön kahdenvälisten suhteiden johtaja Gerardo Peñalver Portal ja Suomen ulkoministeriön Amerikan ja Aasian osastopäällikkö Kimmo Lähdevirta keskustelivat virallisessa tapaamisessaan maiden ulkoministeriöiden välisistä poliittisista konsultaatioista. 
 
Tapaamisessa käytiin läpi maiden kahdenväliset ja kansainväliset suhteet samoin kuin monenkeskeinen toimintaympäristö.
