Cuban president meets with Indian prime minister at the XVII BRICS Summit.

Georgetown, Guyana, July 7, 2025. The president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, held a friendly exchange with the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi in the XVII BRICS Summit. During the meeting, areas of economic-commercial interest, cooperation, and investments that currently exist between India and Cuba were analyzed, reaffirming the excellent state of bilateral relations between both countries. The Cuban leader particularly thanked India for its support in enabling the Island to be part of the group of nations that make up the BRICS.

 

Cuban President will not attend the Brics Summit

Havana, October 21, Cuba's President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, informed that he will not attend the Brics summit due to the electrical emergency in the country and the devastation caused by tropical storm Oscar in eastern provinces. 

Appearing on national television, the President affirmed that the Caribbean nation will be represented by a delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez.
