Copenhagen, May 6, 2021. The Cuban ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, held a meeting with the deputy of the Popular Socialist Party, Rasmus Nordqvist, at the local Parliament.
I, Jan Edvin Christian Gustafsson, Danish citizen, scholar at the University of Copenhagen and writer, wish to express my firm opposition to United States’ blockade, also named embargo, against Cuba. As Latin Americanist scholar and specialist in Cuban studies with a personal knowledge of the Cuban society and of the Cuban immigrant community in Florida, I can assert that the embargo is a violation of the Cuban peoples’ human rights and an attack against Cuban economy.
