This Thursday the Embassy visited the Origin By Ocean company, in Espoo, Finland. An interesting approach to the use of Sargasum in important processes of the textile or pharmaceutical industry. Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González and the Consul Adalberto Avila Parra were grateful to learn about its projection towards algae in the Caribbean Sea.
The Embassy of Cuba was honored with the visit of the general director of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, H.E Mr. Mika Koskinen. The distinguished visitor shared his kind impressions about Cuban people and its culture, during the special days he spent in the Island, in his dialogue with Ambassador Beatriz Parra González. The presence of Deputy Director General, H.E. Mr. Cristiam Lindholm also represented a great joy for the Cuban Embassy in Finland. A very special encounter on the year of the 95 Anniversary of the relationships between Cuba and Finland, shared as well by the Consul of Cuba, Adalberto Ávila Parra.
In this final days of the year, Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González, received a visit from Matti Ponkala, representative of the Bokira Group companies. During the meeting both parts discussed about new plans for 2024 from this company present in Cuba. Cuban diplomat thanked Mr. Ponkala for his support to continue expanding the areas of interest of the Finnish companies in the Caribbean Island.
Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González, participated in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Elina Valtonen, and Ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribean accredited in Helsinki. On behalf of Cuba the Diplomat thanked Finland for its historic support against the US blockade that suffocates the Economy of the Island and increases the daily difficulties of the Cuban people. She also mentioned the recent donation on 10 000 euros done through the Finland Cuba Friendship Association to bring medical materials, medicines and humanitarian aid to the country that has faced a crisis situation with the tightening of the blockade.
On the morning of this Thursday, the Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, spoke with her counterparts from the Latin American and Caribbean Group, accredited in this Nordic capital. During the fraternal exchange, the authorities shared ideas for new projects for the coming months, in which the Latin American embassies present in Finland will be involved. The director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Foreign Ministry of Finland H.E. Mr. Lasse Keisalo, held a metting with Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González. Both authorities dialogued about current issues of Cuba and the bilateral agenda. The Ambassador shared information on the scope of the measures of US embargo, aggravated in the period of the pandemic, in particular due to the impossibility of accessing to the banks, after the unfair inclusion of Cuba on the list of State sponsors of terrorism. Cuba diplomat highlighted the gratitude to Finland, as a member state of the European Union, for its historical accompaniment to the Cuban demand for the end of this cruel policy.
On the night of this Thursday, Cuba participated in the meeting of President Sauli Niniisto with the diplomatic corps. A moment for fraternization with the authorities of the Government and the Foreign Ministry, as well as with Resident and Attending Ambassadors. In the greeting of Ambassador Beatriz Parra González to President Niniisto, she thanked him for his kindness and his words dedicated to the role of diplomacy in today's world.
Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, visited the "Kilroy" tourism agency, one of the oldest in the Nordic countries. After the exchange, Cuban diplomat thanked Pia-Noora, Manager Asistent, for her kind explanation about the program for young tourists, called "In the heart of Cuba". The Ambassador also appreciated her willingness to jointly promote Cuba in Finland and the kind words regarding some experiences in Havana City.

Through a videoconference, Ambassador Beatriz Parra González exchanged this Friday with researcher Anaely Saunders, who is part of the group of academics participating in the bilateral collaboration project called "Iris". In the virtual dialogue, Saunders presented from the city of Tampere, details of the project on the "Cuban Energy Transformation: Integration of intermittent renewable sources in the electrical system", which has been developed in that Nordic nation since 2019.
