Statement by His Excellency Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, at the General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. New York, September 27, 2025
Madam President of the General Assembly;
Mr. Secretary-General;
As we deliberate here, 2.2 million human beings in Gaza are doomed to starve due to the acts of genocide, extermination and ethnic cleansing of the Zionist regime, which counts on the military and financial supplies and the impunity guaranteed by the United States government.
Cuba thanks CARICOM, Africa for stance against US blockade
Havana, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Friday thanked the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Africa for their joint stance against the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.
On his X account, the head of Cuban diplomacy expressed his gratitude to the leaders of both regions for the ‘joint statement calling for the end of the illegal and unjust economic blockade imposed against Cuba.’
With Cuba's support, Honduras declares itself a country free of illiteracy.
The Honduran government declared the country free of illiteracy after all 18 departments (regions) of the Central American nation managed to reduce their illiteracy rate to below 4 percent. The cooperation of Cuba's Educational Brigades was essential in achieving this goal.
The declaration is the result of the José Manuel Flores Arguijo National Literacy Program, promoted by the government of President Xiomara Castro, which successfully implemented the Cuban teaching methodology Yo, sí puedo (Yes, I can).
US Military Deployment in the Caribbean Sea Threatens the Region Under Absurd Pretexts
Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Cuban Government strongly rejects the current deployment of United States military forces in the Caribbean Sea. This dangerous action represents a serious threat and an aggressive show of force against the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it ignores the commitment of the 33 Member States of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States when they proclaimed the region as a Zone of Peace.
