Cuba endorses the statements by the distinguished delegations of Ecuador on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, by the delegation of El Salvador on behalf of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and of AOSIS, on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island Developing States.

71 UNGA: Cuba at the Forum on Financing for Development under the auspices of ECOSOC.

Our delegation welcomes the holding of this Second Financing for Development Forum and acknowledges and is grateful to the Presidents of ECOSOC and the General Assembly, as well as the Secretariat, for organizing the event.

Cuba associates itself with the statements made by Ecuador, El Salvador and Maldives on behalf of the Group of 77 plus China, CELAC and AOSIS, respectively.

71 UNGA: Cuba at the Event on Connectivity and Innovation, convened by the President of the General Assembly.

Mr. President,

We are grateful for the call to this Event on Innovation and Connectivity.

Our delegation associates itself with the Representatives of Ecuador and El Salvador on behalf of the G77 plus China and CELAC, respectively.

Mr. President,

The international community took a significant step forward with the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with Science, Technology and Innovation playing an essential role in its implementation.

71 UNGA: Statement by the Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN at the High-Level Event on Climate Change and Sustainable Development

Mr. Chairman,

Allow me to take this opportunity to express my gratitude on behalf of my country for the convening of this High-Level Event on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.

Climate change is an obvious global threat that calls for urgent, fair and balanced solutions involving all countries in the world, in particular the Small Island Developing States, in a real and effective way.
