Cuban ambassador attends Multifest 2023.

Lower Hutt, September 23. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés attended Multifest 2023, a festival celebrating the diversity of our communities and cultures in New Zealand.

On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, the ambassador thanked the Hutt Multicultural Council for organizing this event, which contributes to preserving traditions and promotes solidarity and respect for diversity.

Attendees enjoyed a varied cultural show, which clearly reflects that, despite the distance, our nationals do not forget their roots.

 

New works are inaugurated on Cuba Street in Palmerston North.

Palmerston North, May 11. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés and Consul Dalila Vázquez visited this city at the invitation of Mayor Grant Smith, to inaugurate remodeling works on Cuba Street.

Authorities, the city press, construction contractors, local businessmen, and residents participated in the public act.

The Ambassador spoke to the attendees and attended a dinner with the mayor and other authorities, on which occasion they discussed the preparations for the Latin American and Spanish Film Festival (LASFF), which Cuba is responsible for organizing in that city in September.

New Plymouth, March 17. Cimafunk and his group successfully performed at the 20th edition of the World of Music and Dance Festival (WOMAD) in this city.

On the night of the 17th, they combined several songs with a Cuban cooking demonstration, at the end of which the audience enjoyed the tostones and shrimp broth prepared during the performance.

In the prime time on Saturday the 18th, they performed on the main stage, for thousands of fans who danced all the time to the rhythm of their songs.

On Sunday the 19th they repeated their success at night.
