Matka

During the recent edition of the "Matka 2025" tourism fair, the Cuban representation in Finland had the opportunity to share with promoters of the Cuba destination at this annual event. Passing by the stand of the Finland-Cuba Friendship Association, Ambassador Beatriz Parra learned about the different opportunities that they generate to attract the attention of the Finnish public to the Caribbean island, many of them associated with historical-cultural and solidarity projects. During this trip, the Caribbean representative also coincided with members of the community of Cuban residents in Finland. The event - in which Eddy Santos, Tourism advisor for the Nordic market based in Sweden, also participated - also allowed the Embassy to approach agencies, specialized journalists and tour operators that promote Cuba as a destination from Finland.

On 31 January 2025, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he communicated to the U.S. Congress the revocation of the suspension of the possibility of filing lawsuits in U.S. courts under Title III of the Helms-Burton Act. Cuba rejects these decisions energetically, firmly and categorically.  It takes them as a new hostile and arrogant act, and repudiates the disrespectful and slanderous language of the State Department's communiqué, full of lies in an attempt to justify the unjustifiable. They will do much damage with their murderous and cowardly plans and measures, but they will never achieve their main objective of bringing Cuba to its knees in order to subjugate it. Cuba shall overcome!
