Statement by H.E. Ms. Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba and Head of the Cuban Delegation at the submission of the III-VI Combined Report of Cuba to the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Madam President, distinguished members of the Committee,

I would like to thank you, on behalf of our delegation, for the opportunity to submit the III-VI Combined Report of Cuba, concerning the fulfillment of its obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Distinguished members of the Committee,

Statement delivered by the delegation of Cuba on behalf of a group of Like Minded Countries at the 49th Session of the Human Rights Council General Debate of Agenda Item 5: Human Rights bodies and mechanisms.

Mister President,

I have the honour to deliver this statement on behalf of a Like Minded Group of countries.

We have followed with interest the updates by special procedures mandate holders and the Coordinating Committee on the progress in the improvement of their working methods. We emphasize the need that all special procedures mandate holders discharge their duties within their mandates, and in an impartial and objective manner.
